What is Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojna

Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) is a government scheme launched on April 8, 2015, to support small businesses and entrepreneurs in India. It provides collateral-free loans to non-corporate, non-farm small/micro enterprises to help them grow and create employment.

Key Features:

Loan Amounts (in three categories):

Shishu: Up to ₹50,000 (for startups or very small businesses)

Kishore: ₹50,001 to ₹5 lakh (for growing businesses)

Tarun: ₹5 lakh to ₹10 lakh (for established businesses looking to expand)

No collateral required: Loans are unsecured.

Eligible Sectors: Manufacturing, trading, services, and even agriculture-allied sectors like dairy, poultry, etc.

Available at: Banks, NBFCs, MFIs, small finance banks, and other approved institutions.

Objective: To promote self-employment and financial inclusion by empowering small entrepreneurs, especially those from lower-income groups and women.
